My Rating and Review

I thought this was a charming first book in a new series! I feel like this is a promising start to what could be a great series. I enjoyed reading this book from beginning to end and I was never bored with the plot. I kept wanting to turn the page to find out what happens next.

The idea behind the plot is very interesting. It is a time travel book, but only the time traveling is done by some of the characters back to our time to stop WWIII from happening and essentially ending the world we all know. They come to stop the events that will cause the future end from taking place.

Lacey is the girl who is supposed to stop it all. Only she doesn't know this and just has it dropped on her. She has made some bad decisions and her father has basically given up on her. He drops her off at Clear Waters and this where her future takes hold. Lacey is a character who grows to be stronger throughout the book.  She learns more about herself and that she can do far more than she ever thought possible.  She learns to put herself and the life she misses aside forever so that she can try to save our world.  She learns as we learn. She makes mistakes and must answer for them. She is a passionate character who makes you want to see her succeed.

Taylor is one of the people who come from the future. He is in charge of Lacey and helps her learn about herself and her abilities. He is brave and determined in his cause. He will not accept failure and that also hurts him in someways in the book and he must learn that. I liked Taylor. Definitely a male lead that I wouldn't mind seeing more of.

All in all this is a fun, easy, and entertaining read. I want to read the next in the series and I look forward to finding out where the story goes and what will unfold for Lacey and Taylor.
