Synopsis:
Brooke Wright has only two goals her senior year at Charity Run High School: stay out of trouble and learn to forgive herself for the past. Forgiveness proves elusive, and trouble finds her anyway when she discovers a secret club at school connected to the death of her best friend. She learns that swim team members participate in a “Fantasy Slut League,” scoring points for their sexual acts with unsuspecting girls.

Brooke, wracked with guilt over her friend’s death, decides to infiltrate the league by becoming one of the “unsuspecting girls,” and exact revenge on the boys who stole away her best friend. An unexpected romance complicates her plans, and her dogged pursuit of justice turns her reckless as she underestimates just how far the boys will go to keep their sex club a secret.

(This is a New Adult fiction book with mature themes. It contains graphic sex and language and a description of sexual violence.)

My Rating and Review

4.5-5/5

This novel left me speechless. It goes past your comfort zone. It does not hold anything back. It shows the ugliness of rape and the effects it can cause. This is usually a book I would never pick up, maybe if I had not gone off of an urge I wouldn't have, but I am so thankful I did.

The main character, Brooke, is an amazing, inspirational young woman. She copes with a guilt that any person would carry and feel from actions she makes and the death of her best friend.  She starts out as a young woman who cares for nothing more then herself and her appearance, but after starting a new high school and meeting the boy that she knows had a hand in her best friends death, she's becomes amazing. She discovers more then she thought she was going to find. A secret sex club. A handful of boys that she wants to bring to justice and she wants to protect other girls from them also. She is so determined she puts her own safety on the line. Brooke is definitely a favorite character.

This book is gut wrenching.  It does not start out as such but the further you read into it the more intense it gets. The author, herself, has written that she does not advise you to read this if you are a victim of sexual assault.  To be warned this book does contain a rape scene. I think it is important to know that before going into this. I usually will not stand for anything containing such but like I said this book is just so beyond words and moving.

I ended up loving this. I can't even begin to describe the emotions that it stirred within me. If you like happy books, this is not for you. It is dark and gritty, but it is so worth the ride.
